dc dance

dance, dans, Tanze, danse, danza
i like that word
the sound of it
the joy in it
i like to dance
i love to watch people dance
bodies in motion can  literally take my breath away
the beauty, the energy, the language,

 modern dance especially,
i forget everything looking at those dancers
mesmerizing sensation and feeling at home at the same time,

Anna Teresa De Keersmaeker ( i've always been a great admirer of this lady)
Akram Khan ("to know is nothing at all...to imagine is everything") :)
Koen De Preter (please watch this)

i've been humming Leonardo Cohen's song all week"Dance Me To The End Of Love"

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Oh let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon
Show me slowly what I only know the limits of
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

So the talented Patrice invited us to dance
on this 100th dc, please take a look at our dance party.

(dear friends, i'll visit you all in the course of the following week,
lack of time played tricks on me the past week
but you are in my thoughts somewhere... and that feels good)

have a lovely weekend

dc tiles

(please click to enlarge)

blame it on the sunshine
and fresh air or the child in me that wants to play sometimes,
i was in a playful mood indeed this week ;)

the pig patio remembered me of  an incident long ago,
i lived like a mile away from an abbatoir then ,
one day a cow got mad and escaped (poor thing)
frenzied and wild it destroyed many gardens in the neighbourhood including mine.
passing that abbatoir regurlarly made me stop eating meat.

dog at an exhibition;   we have an expression in flemish to express
'no one came', er kwam geen kat, no cat came,
...well ...at least a dog turned up :)

time for some coffee now don't you think

to see more tiles please go to Ariane's beautiful place,

nice weekend to you all

brave new world...

that's how it felt in my garden today,
plants seem to have survived the long winter.
i've been preparing the greenhouse, sowing, fertilising and tidying up borders all day,
(much later than previous years, and still lots to be done).
seeds and plants are sprouting and i sprout with them.
the next weeks the ground will be covered more and more
by luscious green and flowers, it will look totally different,
an  ever changing appearance.
bees and butterflies were already there,
zealous birds holding me company
in the sunshine and warm  wind from Spain.

dc beauty

beauty 'silences' me
like if i fade out, vanish and become just sensation
it imbues me, fulfills me, fills me
with a feeling of wonder, lightness, happiness and pleasure,
melancholy sometimes or longing
it touches every fiber
it comes in the form of an image, something i see
it can be a sound , something i hear
even a scent or a flavour
and also a touch
or a thought

a rose bush coming just into bloom
the look in someone's eyes, the color of an iris
or the print of a summer dress
a voice singing in the distance
the sound of a particular word,
or rain against the window when lying in a warm bed
honeysuckle on a warm evening
fresh sheets,a lover's skin,
warm goat's cheese and herb salade with a glass of chablis
cool water from a little mountain stream
a kiss on my forehead,
that  sticky, tiny hand in mine,
a warm embrace,
things coming out of the memory box in my head

sweet Nadine presented us with a marvelous opportunity
to wonder about beauty,
beauty is all around us
it's a matter of being open to it

for more beauty please visit Nadine's wonderful Tiny woolf place
and enjoy

a mole and a hedgehog

two regular guests in the garden,
one velvety , the other prickly
one almost blind and usually hidden underground,
the other walking through the evening garden.

april

april started cold but sunny,
the brave hellebores  make you kneel to see their heart
but you surely get rewarded,
rhubarb crawls out all wrinkled, determined to grow big,
magnolia's promising buds (oh i can't wait)
the cold gives the tree peony a hard time, but it's managing ,
anemones, hiding, but glorious when a ray of sun caresses them,
a garden slowly awakes.
